Q: How long have you worked at Solar Power Australia?
A: 14 Years
Q: What’s the coolest or most interesting thing you
have worked on at SPA?
A: We’ve been
involved in some super interesting and cutting-edge projects over the years,
but I reckon the Byron Bay Solar Train was my favourite. 70 tonnes of 1950s
rail carriage moved silently by the power of the sun.
Q: What’s the best piece of professional advice
you’ve ever received?
A: Negotiate
politely.
Q: What are three items you’d take with you to a
deserted island?
A:
1. As much of a full toolkit as is possible. If it
must be a single item, then the most complex Leatherman available.
2. A long life solar powered reverse osmosis water purifier.
3. A long range satellite communications device so I can call in assistance if
I want it 🙂
Q: What’s your favourite sports team?
A: The Santa
Cruz Banana Slugs! Nah, to be honest, Im not really that into team sport
competition.
Q: What did you want
to be when you grew up?
A: A professional skateboarder.
Q: What motivates you?
A: Solving
issues, understanding why something wasn’t working properly, and informing
people so they can avoid issues happening again. Helping people get the
absolute best out of their power systems.
Q: How do you describe what you do for a living to
family and friends?
A: I
usually say that I design the more complex or unusual solar power systems and
analyse and solve problems.
Q: Who would you most
like to switch places with for a day?
A: Maybe either the premier of NSW or the prime
minister, whichever position I could make the largest amount of lasting changes
to our policies of governance.
Q: What characteristic do you like most about
yourself?
A:My easy going
attitude, and general positivity.
Q: If you could change something in the
world, what would it be?
A: The impact the human race is having on the systems and species of the
planet. If we don’t change something soon, stuff is going to get wild.
Q: How do you wind down after work?
A: Going for
walks at the beach or around my property, tucking into projects at home, eating
enthusiastically, and hanging with friends.
